Singer-Songwriter Charlie Hilton sings a somber folksy tune with a droning beat. The certain feeling that you get from her voice combined with the infectious guitar puts you in a daze. The singing style hearkens back to an earlier time but more so Charlie Hilton seems stuck out of time. When you learn there are supporting vocals from indie rocker Mac DeMarco the song “100 million” makes a little more sense but still it hits a certain tone that makes you feel depressed. A depression you find a little comfort in like when you sit with a friend from long past. The guitar sings beautifully with Charlies voice and the subtle backing vocals enhance the haunting presence this song brings. This tune comes from Charlie Hilton’s solo album Palana released last year. I recommend to giving the album a full listen if you dig this. Enjoy!
